Canadiens sign Connor Crisp & Daniel Carr to entry level contracts

Francois Lacasse

Carr signed through 2016, Crisp received a deal that runs until 2017.

The Canadiens announced two surprising signings today, as forwards Connor Crisp and Daniel Carr signed entry level deals. Crisp received a three year deal, whereas Carr signed a two year deal due to his career in the NCAA.

Crisp had a reasonably strong campaign in the OHL, although you have to keep in mind he was playing as 20 year old. In his seven game try out with Hamilton he contributed two goals.

The third round pick in 2013 will be looked upon to contribute toughness and some auxiliary scoring to the Bulldogs next year.

The Daniel Carr signing comes as a bit of a surprise, and we'll have to do a little more digging before we comment on his play. The Union College left winger recently finished a very successful NCAA career which culminated with the national championship.

You can read more about Carr over at SBN College Hockey.

Here's the official press release.

Still no word on whether or not the Habs plan on offering Brady Vail a contract, although you'd think they would have done so by now.
