I think this award should be renamed the Jean Beliveau Trophy. When it comes to sportsmanship and gentlemanly play, the man is a living legend, all stop.
There is a precedent for changing trophy names, although I'm not sure I understand why the Lester Pearson trophy became the Ted Lindsay trophy. I guess Lindsay was a better player than the guy who designed Toronto's airport.
No offense to Lady Byng, I'm sure she was a swell person and an inspiration to all who knew her. But this seems like a no-brainer to me.
