Score effects or not, the Canadiens are sitting back on their heels, and this three goal lead is anything but safe.

The Hurricanes are hustling and the Canadiens are not. As a result, they were soundly outplayed in the second period, but several posts and some brilliant saves from Carey Price has kept their solid lead.

But the Habs are playing with fire here, and the Hurricanes know that this is a team you can come back from big deficits against. Increasing the intensity level in the third is a must, as is stopping the obscene overuse of Douglas Murray.

Murray played 15% of the first period, where the Hurricanes held a very slight shot advantage. He played 40% of the second period, where the Habs got pounded in shot attempts. It's not a coincidence.
