Time for decision: Marc Bergevin

Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin you have decision to take. If Olympics pass and no decision is taken, I think your boss the Molson and your Habs fans will have question for you.

I think this is the option available.

1. Fire Therrien.

In good case to fire the coach will make positive change on the short term, and the long term keep every thing the same. You know all the problem of Montreal Canadiens is much deeper then for the coach. But to fire Therrien so early it is to admit failure. Some people say it is a sign of a strong person to admit mistakes, but for the Habs fans this is a very bitter thing to taste after so much hope. We wanted a better plan. After Therrien, next coach that is fired could be fired same day as Marc Bergevin.

2. Make minor trade

My friend at my work talk about a maybe trade for Rene Bourque and PA Parenteau. This is not a bad trade but it actually make that team smaller, which is not the direction we want to see it. Trade like that will not make playoff chances very much better. For you a trade like that or even two trade like this will not get more prestige factor.

3. Make major trade and hope nothing bad happen

If you want to do something, do major trade. What is trade value of the P.K.? Of Tomas Plekanec? Carey Price? Maybe it is time to show you are serious about putting your mark on that team. Change the face of the Montreal Canadiens. With your assets you can bring in almost any player in the NHL, if you are willing to make the major risk like for trading P.K. Subban.

With any trade, it is important to remember the goal. Never trade young player unless young player is coming back. Do not trade the draft picks but take the draft pick of other teams, This is the formula for success. Do not try to win Stanley Cup this season, prepare for the future and make good decision for the long term more then the short term. Make the realistic goal.

4. Do nothing

Trust your team and your coach. This is probably worst decision.

For Marc Bergevin it is time to make a decision. I hope he make the good one.

(Is there other option available I don't see?)
