Canadiens vs. Senators - Second Period Thread

The Canadiens held the balance of the play, but come out of the first period with one goal deficit.

Scoring Summary

17:25 OTT GOAL E. KARLSSON (1) TIP-IN ASST: K. TURRIS (1) and M. METHOT (1)

Penalty Summary

11:10 MTL B. PRUST: BOARDING - 2 Min (Z. SMITH)

The Canadiens came out with energy on their home ice, earning a flurry of good chances from the likes of Brendan Gallagher and Max Pacioretty. Unfortunately, Craig Anderson was more than up to the task, withstanding all of the Canadiens advances.

The Canadiens surrendered their momentum on a slick play from Erik Karlsson, who took a feed (misplay?) from Kyle Turris and tipped it past Carey Price.

The Canadiens have made a strong first period the trademark of success for most of this season. The second period, less than their forte, is where the Canadiens will need to come out strong to keep pace with the staunch Sens.
