Was that the kind of period the team can rally around?

For the first time since they clinched a playoff spot, the Canadiens got through the first 5 minutes without giving up a goal. For the first time since they clinched a playoff spot, the Canadiens weren't down by 2 after 10 minutes.

Did they play great? Well, no. They're +2 Fenwick and -1 Corsi, but Tampa Bay had by far the better chances, including ringing the post 3 times.

Carey Price was much sharper than he has been the last three games, but he also narrowly escaped giving up 3 goals on golden chances due to horrible defensive breakdowns.

Price's save on Richard Panik with his blocker was fantastic, but there's still a problem with defensive coverage. A big problem.

Scoring first may give this team the confidence it needs.
