Brandon Prust opened the scoring against the Hurricanes when they last played on February 18th, and he was a dominant force tonight in the first period. He opened the scoring again on a garbage goal by putting himself in front of the net, and then he sent an absolutely gorgeous pass to Josh Gorges, who scored an equally beautiful goal on the backhand.

Alexei Emelin set a new career high in points in a season with 8, and he was also very good in the opening period, sending excellent passes onto his teammate's sticks.

Watching hockey in Carolina's arena is a little disconcerting, it's damn quiet in there. No skating noises, no puck noises, no hit noises. It's really weird.
