Last week we saw the Canadiens completely dominate Buffalo twice, and lose both games. That was annoying, but the territorial dominance was nice to see from a team that looks to be taking off. Doing the same thing to an elite team like Pittsburgh though, that's something that's impressive.

The Canadiens held a 23-11 shot attempt advantage in the first period, with a 16-7 Fenwick. Nothing is set in stone yet though, especially with Chris Lee officiating the game.

The Canadiens need to get on the board in the second, and if they keep playing like they did in the first, that should happen.

One key to the possession dominance in the first? A smart decision by Michel Therrien to make sure that P.K. Subban is out on the ice whenever a line that isn't great defensively is out there. This prevents Dan Bylsma from fully exploiting home ice advantage and getting Crosby very favourable matchups.

Subban lead all players on both teams with 8:11 of ice time in the first.
