Buffalo ran wild with interference and holding that went uncalled all period, and the Desharnais line played like it was practice.

Buffalo is one of the worst teams in the NHL. Montreal is one of the best teams in the NHL. This kind of period happens, but it probably shouldn't happen.
For the first 10 minutes the Canadiens were largely asleep, with Carey Price holding them in the game on some excellent chances for Buffalo.
Then the Canadiens woke up off of some great work by Plekanec, Eller, and Dumont's lines with some excellent possession and good scoring chances... and everything was undone by the Desharnais line.
Brendan Gallagher seems to be working hard, but David Desharnais and Max Pacioretty may as well be in the press box right now. The lack of coverage and soft plays on both goals by those two was embarrassing to behold, and it's been like this for awhile now. Enough is enough.
