Canadiens at Panthers - Second Period Thread

Stay connected for news and updates

After some bad luck in the first period against Tampa Bay, the Canadiens were having none of that tonight, scoring twice to take a 2 goal lead into the second.

SCORING SUMMARY

01:46 MTL D. DESHARNAIS (8) SLAP - ASST: A. EMELIN (8) 1 - 0 MTL

08:42 MTL PPG - M. RYDER (7) TIP-IN - ASST: P. SUBBAN (10) AND T. PLEKANEC (6) 2 - 0 MTL

PENALTY SUMMARY

1ST PERIOD

06:56 FLA MARCEL GOC : INTERFERENCE - 2 MIN

17:39 FLA NOLAN YONKMAN : ROUGHING - 2 MIN (RYAN WHITE)

17:39 FLA NOLAN YONKMAN : SLASHING - 2 MIN

The Canadiens came out flying against the Panthers in the first and it took less than two minutes for the continually lucky David Desharnais to pop a goal past Jacob Markstrom.

Then on the powerplay Michael Ryder scored his 100th goal as a Montreal Canadien on a tipped shot by P.K. Subban, who continues to be absolutely lethal on the PP.

Then after Ryan White showed some amazing discipline in drawing a double minor by Nolan Yonkman, the Canadiens decided to start the second period a little early and didn't even try to score.

Hopefully they wake up and don't let the Panthers back in it.
