I was wondering what the EOTP community thought about the English debut of 24CH last week. I'm assuming that anyone who frequents this site would be interested in a behind-the-scenes look at Les Glorieux... hell, I liked just seeing the dressing room.

I'd call the first episode a qualified success. There were a few times that I rolled my eyes when the cheese got a little too thick even for my Hab loving sensibilities, but that's the nature of a docu-reality series... Gotta build that dramatic tension! There was also a fair amount of stage setting and setting up the "characters" that might have been a little basic for the sophisticates around here... but all in all, I was entertained throughout.

Personal highlights:

• MT's monologue in the car on the way to the first day of training camp. "In a short season there are always surprises... it's our job to be one of those surprises." Gold.
• Colby Armstrong chirping Desharnais about what a legend he is in Chicoutimi
• Colby Armstrong speaking "French".
• The part when Galchenyuk gets informed that he is making the team, goes to the dressing room, sits down, looks around... almost imperceptibly shakes his head, and smiles. Such a poignant moment, brilliantly captured.

So, what do you think about 24CH going forward? What are your hopes/fears for the series? Thumbs up, or down?
