Yesterday during practice Michel Therrien shook up the lines and they seem to be going into tonight's game.
First off, I want to brag and you're all going to have to take it. I said at the beginning of the year that if the Pacioretty - Desharnais - Cole line didn't produce right away, they'd be broken up. A lot of people didn't think Therrien had the cajones to break them up, but as of yesterday, it seems like he's willing to try.
Going into tonight's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, Max Pacioretty will be on a line with Alex Galchenyuk and Brendan Gallagher. So far this year, a pure exploitation line that's been rolling with the percentages, but not dominant on possession.
Pacioretty can surely change the possession part, but I don't know if he can carry two rookies well enough to not need high offensive zone starts, and with David Desharnais still playing center, and Erik Cole still struggling, the team can't afford to house two lines that need heavy sheltering.
What do you think, can Pacioretty - Galchenyuk - Gallagher be a second line?
