Canadiens vs Kings: Second Period Thread

The Habs played a fantastic period against a great team, but trail 2-0 going into the second. It's going to be one of those games, folks.

PENALTY SUMMARY

1ST PERIOD

00:38 LAK Drew Doughty Tripping - 2 min against David Desharnais

07:36 MTL Michael Bournival Hooking - 2 min against Alec Martinez

12:36 LAK Justin Williams Interference on goalkeeper - 2 min against Carey Price

16:38 LAK Robyn Regehr Interference - 2 min against Tomas Plekanec

On average the Los Angeles Kings allow 26.1 shots against per game. The Canadiens ran up 17 on them in the first period tonight. That's an incredibly impressive feat that shouldn't be overlooked.

Yet they're down 2-0 against a team that's been giving up less than 2 goals per game for over a month. This is bad. Real bad. But the play is encouraging. If the Canadiens don't crumple after an unfortunate first period result, they have a chance to come back.
