Montreal Canadiens News and Analysis

The Canadiens won again last night, this time against the Winnipeg Jets, with Carey Price's first shutout of the season and going 3 and 1 on their western road trip. Gionta is back! Briere got a goal! And P.K. Subban may not have had many short-handed minutes but he was once again the Canadiens' top defenseman.

Max Pacioretty limped off the ice in the first period, and as of this writing, we're not sure what's wrong other than an apparent lower-body injury.

Nathan Currier thinks Carey Price is a different goalie this year, and that it's mostly mental.

In case you missed it Saturday night, Brendan Gallagher was a guest on HNiC's After Hours.

Dalton Thrower has been everything to the Vancouver Giants so far this season, according to the club's GM.

General News and Analysis

The ice Maxim Lapierre is skating on is thin as of yesterday evening, after delivering a check from behind on San Jose's Dan Boyle. In Lapierre's favour should Shanaban come knocking is that he's not technically a repeat offender.

Not so for multiple-offender Patrick Kaleta, suspended for 10 games after already serving two for his illegal hit to the head on Jack Johnson of the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Bobby Orr's memoir "Orr: My Story" comes out on October 15 - read an excerpt from the first chapter. Orr is also Don Cherry's number one fan, stating that he should be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. And no, not for not knowing how to count.
