Montreal Canadiens call up Nathan Beaulieu

Claus Andersen

Turns out the Habs weren't very serious about not calling anyone up.

Well that didn't last long.

After stating yesterday that they wouldn't be calling anyone up to take the place of the injured veteran, Douglas Murray, the Montreal Canadiens announced today that they have called up star Bulldogs defenseman Nathan Beaulieu.

Beaulieu was just released from training camp a couple days ago, after playing the final two preseason games and not looking out of place.

Having the distinguished title of the Habs' top prospect outside the NHL, Beaulieu finished 6th in this summer's Top 25 Under 25.
