Habs Sign Diaz For Two More Years
Marc Bergevin continues to piece together the 2012-13 edition of the Montreal Canadiens. Friday afternoon the team announced the signing of defenseman Raphael Diaz to a two year deal. Financial terms of the deal were naturally undisclosed by the team, but Renaud Lavoie of RDS tweeted it at $2.45 million over the two years. It's a 33% raise over the $900K he made last year with the Canadiens. This puts the Habs with seven roster defensemen under contract. P.K. Subban is the remaining RFA on the Canadiens roster. Habs fans shouldn't be in panic mode over P.K. not signing yet. Remember, Carey Price didn't sign his first RFA deal until September 2, 2010.
