After looking at Plekanec and Pacioretty, we move to the Habs' leading scorer in 2011-12, Erik Cole.
We start with Cole's 1st to 12th goals.
October 24th, 2011: Yannick Weber sends the puck across the Panthers' blueline to Raphael Diaz, who gives it to David Desharnais on the half wall. Desharnais sends it back to Diaz who takes a slapshot that deflects off of Erik Cole and in. This goal was a team effort on a zone play.
October 27th, 2011: Cole gains the Bruins' zone but is muscled off of the puck by Milan Lucic. Desharnais is right there to pick up the puck though, and sends it up to the left point to Jaroslav Spacek, who takes a shot that's deflected in by Cole, who had driven to the middle of the ice. This goal was a team effort scored off the rush.
November 4th, 2011: Hal Gill shoots from the point and is stopped by Craig Anderson and recovered by a Senators defenseman. Mike Cammalleri steals the puck and puts another shot on net, also stopped by Anderson. Cammalleri then beats the Sens to the puck and takes it up high before sending it down low to Desharnais. Cammalleri springs loose and Desharnais feeds him before falling, then Cammalleri quickly feeds Cole in the slot who puts it home. This goal was a team effort on a zone play.
November 14th, 2011: Pacioretty takes the puck wide and gives it to Desharnais in front who gets a shot off and starts a scramble in front of the Sabres net. Pacioretty grabs the loose puck and taps it up to P.K. Subban, who finds Cole open for a one-timer. This goal was a team effort on a zone play.
November 17th, 2011: Cole gets the puck down deep and gives it to Tomas Plekanec, who evades Blake Comeau and sends the puck up to Diaz at the point. Diaz shoots and Dipietro makes a save but can't recover in time as Cole gobbles up the rebound and puts it in the net. The goal was a team effort on a zone play.
November 19th, 2011: Weber breaks out of the Canadiens' zone and finds Cole on the right side. Cole breaks into the Rangers zone on his own and scores while barreling down the right side with a wrist shot over Martin Biron's blocker. This goal was an individual effort off the rush.
November 26th, 2011: After gaining the zone rather messily, the puck comes to Subban, who takes a shot from the right point that misses the net and pops out the other side to Max Pacioretty. Pacioretty spots Cole in the slot and gives him a nice backhand feed that Cole one-times off the post, off Marc-Andre Fleury and into the Penguins net. This goal was a team effort on a zone play.
December 1st, 2011: Desharnais passes it behind the Sharks net to Cammalleri, who reverses it back to Desharnais. Desharnais then evades Joe Thornton and wraps around the net to give Cole a perfect back door pass for the goal. This goal was a team effort on a zone play.
December 8th, 2011: For some reason NHL.com does not have this goal, but I found it on youtube. The embedded video is a 14 minute highlight package of the game, but the goal in question is at 4:08. Off of a defensive zone faceoff, Cole blocks a shot from Same Salo and generates a break for himself against the Canucks. He beats Roberto Luongo coming down the right side with a wrist shot. This goal was an individual play off the rush.
December 10th, 2011: Tomas Kaberle takes the puck down low and sets up Mathieu Darche for a one-timer in the slot that Martin Brodeur can't control. As Brodeur reaches for the puck, Darche knocks it past him and right to Cole, who shovels it into the empty net. This goal was a team effort on a zone play.
December 13th, 2011: Cole breaks into the Islanders zone and makes a drop pass to Desharnais, who evades a check with alarming ease and finds Subban on the left point. Subban waits for Desharnais to hit the slot and sends the puck right back to him, and finally Desharnais sends it to Cole who one-times it for a goal. This goal was a team effort on a zone play.
December 15th, 2011: Kaberle and Desharnais go back and forth a couple of times before Desharnais sends the puck down low to Pacioretty. Max waits a second before sending it to the goal mouth where Cole is waiting to tap it in. This goal was a team effort on a zone play.
Tomorrow we look at Cole's 13th to 24th goals.
