Magnus Nygren Comparison
Nygren's teammate at Fargestad this past season, Jonas Junland scored 28 points in 56 games. Nygren (three years younger) scored 25 in 36 games. A year earlier Junland played in the AHL and was his team's second leading scorer (as a defenseman) with 44 points. Behind Lars Eller. Junland just played a few NHL games the two seasons he was in North America, but was one of the top scoring AHL defensemen while he was there. If Nygren has more offensive potential than Junland, the Habs may really have something on their hands.

Nygren also outscored former first round picks David Rundblad and Tim Erixon in the playoffs. Both played for the team that Fargestads beat for the championship. They are just a few months younger than Magnus.
He also outscored Erixon on a point per game basis this year. He’s projected as currently ready for an NHL spot. Rundlblad of course had a rediculous offensive year.

I quite liked seeing his name up there. He really had a great playoff run, always seemed involved.
I actually didn’t even think he was draft eligible anymore. Must have been his last year.
I’ll dig up some more info on Nygren for this site.

I'd say that Nygren's rookie year in the SEL
……was comparable to Subban’s rookie year in the AHL when both players were 20 years old. From an offensive standpoint at least.
Subban’s absolutely ridiculous +/- in Hamilton suggests to me that his 20 year old year was outstanding on both sides of the puck.
