Chara hit was NOT intentional!
Okay, I just read an article that had a picture and everything to back up the thought that Chara hit this Pacioretty into this very specific spot on purpose. He did NOT do this on purpose. Chara is not a dirty player, he plays hard and he plays physical but he does not play with the intent to hurt someone even for "revenge". Yes, he did mean to push him, very hard I presume. But what are the odds that in that small amount of time that Chara was next to him, getting ready to check him into the boards, that Chara saw the edge of the glass and thought "oh I'm going to shove his face right in that exact location!" That doesn't make any sense. I'm an athlete too and I am VERY physical but I never plan exactly where I want someone to fall. Chara wasn't planning to slam his head into the end of the glass, that just happened to be the location. And if this was another player, a dirty one, then maybe you might have a chance of saying this was intentional but look at Chara's history. He is not a dirty or cheap player. Even if it was intentional, which it is not, he would not have meant to send Pacioretty to the hospital. I doubt any hockey players plays with the intent to hospitalize other players.
SO to sum it all up, yes the check was hard and intentional but what WASN'T intentional was the placement of the hit and Pacioretty's injuries. Chara meant to check him, not wreck him.

Just to be clear
Todd Bertuzzi stated on numerous times that he never intended to injure Steve Moore, yet was vilified for a similar outcome on a similarly reckless action well outside the play.
Just sayin’…
Todd Bertuzzi also said the exact same thing people are saying about Chara: “I don’t play that way, I’m not a dirty player”.

Even if, what does intent matter?
If you run a stop sign, it’s not such a big deal. Maybe it was late, and nobody was there, or something like that. But what happens if you run a stop sign a hit someone. There’s no intent to hit a pedestrian, and the action that you did, while wrong, wasnt such a big deal. The endgame, though, is that someone is in the hospital with a fractured spine and a concussion

You're a bruins fan and your words carry no weight here.
You’re also an idiot if you can’t see that he directed Max’s head into the corner. He knew exactly where he was and you can see his left arm pushing his head further into the bench so that he would hit the glass.
It takes neither courage nor intelligence to cheer for a team only when that team wins. The true test of a fan's mettle is the same as it is for a player: Were you there when you were needed?

Chara
If I swing a stick at a puck miss it and slam the stick into the head of the opposing player’s head, then your logic along with the NHL’s says that I was involved in a Hockey play and deserve no penalty. Absurd! By the way BriuinsBaby can you tell me how many match penalties Chara has received prior to his hit on Pacioretty? If he is not a dirty player, the answer should be zero. However, I do remember a few as a Bruin and as a Senator.
