The Commish responds to AC and the Chara situation
NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman responded to Air Canada's threat to pull their sponsorship dollars, if the league does not address the head shot issue more thoroughly. The full story from NHL.com can be read here.
"Actually, the letter came before any decision or discipline was meted out," said Bettman. "I have responded to the letter from Air Canada. Our Hockey Operations people are extraordinarily comfortable with the decision that they made. It was a horrific injury and we're sorry it happened in our fast-paced, physical game, but I don't think whether or not supplemental discipline was imposed would have changed what happened."

That’s why Molson’s intervention was necessary. The only way this debate can go forward is by going straight to the top of the NHL’s power structure.
