'Devil's Night' Habs reading
So if you're not out throwing eggs around, setting a fire in Detroit, or stuffing a live goose through the parcel slot at the local postal outlet (yes...true story, but I didn't do it) here's a few bits to read on the night.
Pat Hickey breaks down the Canadiens win over the Boston Bruins. The boys in Beantown are redirecting the blame from coach Claude Julien.
Red Fisher wonders if the real Montreal Canadiens have finally shown up.

Michael Farber gave a Thumbs Down to the Habs dismissal of Perry Pearn.
"The Canadiens won the next three games with Randy Ladouceur running the defense, but the sacking of head coach Jacques Martin's closest aide and the modest winning streak were coincidence, not the blueprint to a Montreal revival."
Jack Todd seems to agree
I think I'll check this place out for my next haircut.
The Hamilton Bulldogs lost 6-2 to the Abbotsford Heat this afternoon. Funniest thing was hearing Zack FitzGerald (16 PIM and a 10 min misconduct) drop on f-bomb, on his way to the penalty box, during the radio broadcast. The 'Dogs tough guy had just rushed to the aid of Louis Leblanc.

I’m puzzled at the Pearn backlash. The guy’s career ain’t precisely over yet and that contract extension, like every extensions of the kind, serves as a nice severance package.
Peary Pearn is easily employable, I doubt he has any difficulty finding work.

The media wanted Martin gone. Of course, that would’ve in turn meant that Pearn would’ve been fired with Martin, but whatever. Pearn gets to be a sympathetic character as a result. It’s another story for a week or two.

It couldn’t possibly be that Gauthier acutely understood what was and wasn’t working of the behind the bench dynamic and made a premise correction?
Just as he astutely made good, uncostly moves to fortify the fourth line.
PG is essentially a micromanager. He knows his details, finer points and has the scouting sense to pay as much attention to marginal players as to the game breakers.
The Montreal MSM would rather a likeable GM than a successful one.
Devil’s Night? Didn’t realize I had navigated my way over to a Wings blog.
It’s called Mat Night, people. Get it right. ;-P
