1967: Montreal rookie Jacques Lemaire scored the first goal of his NHL career. It came in the Canadiens' 2-2 tie against the Rangers, at New York. Former Hab Phil Goyette both Rangers goals.

1972: Canadiens' Pete Mahovlich scored a goal and added three assists to lead Montreal to a 4-4 tie with the Blues at St. Louis

1978: Montreal traded Rod Schutt to Pittsburgh, in exchange for Pittsburgh's first round choice (Mark Hunter) in the 1981 Entry Draft

1986: The Habs earned their 5,000th all-time NHL point when they beat the Winnipeg Jets 5-3. The win brought the Canadiens' 70-year NHL record totals to 2,174 -1,290-653 in 4,117 games. Going into Tuesday's game, the franchise is currently at 3105-2019-837-81 (7128 Points).
