Jean Pusie 2

1910: Former NHL defenseman Jean Pusie (pictured) was born in Montreal, Que. Pusie played in the NHL 1930-31 through 1935-36 with Montreal, the New York Rangers and Boston

1950: Maurice Richard scored both goals to lead the Canadiens to a 2-1 win over the Boston Bruins at Boston.

1954: Jacques Plante recorded his 6th career shutout in the Canadiens' 3-0 win over the Chicago Blackhawks

1955: Montreal defeated the Rangers 4-1 at the Forum. Maurice Richard scored twice while his younger brother, rookie Henri scored his first NHL goal.


1960: Dickie Moore scored his 5th and final career hat trick and added an assist, and teammate Bernie Geoffrion had three more goals (for the 11th of his career) in the Canadiens' 8-4 win against the Rangers, in Montreal.

1977: Montreal goalie Michel Larocque recorded his 10th career shutout as the Canadiens won 5-0 over the Rangers, at the Forum.

1986: Tom Barrasso and rookie Patrick Roy traded shutouts as the Buffalo Sabres and Canadiens tied 0-0 at the Aud in Buffalo. It was the NHL's first scoreless tie in three years. It was also the 10th career shutout for Barrasso and the second for Roy.
