Around SBN: Raiders' GM Begins The Purge

The Penguins Matt Cooke questioned the style of play of Canadiens rookie P.K. Subban.

Quote from the Beaver County (giggity!) Times.

"It’s the second time (it’s happened)," said Cooke, who scored Pittsburgh’s lone goal early in the first period. "I know it’s not a penalty when skates collide but for that to happen in back-to-back games by the same guy is suspicious."

Cooke went on to say he didn't think it was intentional. Well he'd be the one to know about intentional and non-intentional hits, right?

This may be the most absurd story of the 2010 NHL playoffs. What a moron Cooke is.

Let’s suggest that Cooke hasn’t had the greatest luck in fisticuffs with rookies of a similar race!

Thank God we have Matt Cooke to keep an eye on dangerous players.

That has to be the most ineffective piece of playoff trash talk I have ever seen. Ovechkin and Halak’s hand shaking sure…

But, I mean, jeebus, Subban is running around trying to slice people with his skates, really?

Actually, the moron of the story is the journalist; dude spits out things like that, you look at him straight in the eye, say “uh hu!” and back away slowly.

Ad Hominem here?

Cooke did have the top of his skate cut open a game after Jordan Staal had his foot lacerated by the same player’s skate. I don’t think anyone in their right mind believes he is doing this on purpose, but as Cooke did say, it looks “odd”, “funny”, “out of the ordinary”, or the word he used “suspicious”. How often do we see something like this time after time? And if the players, Staal and Cooke were reversed, I think we would actually be debating the merits of the quote instead of blindly writing it off as: “OMG MATT COOKE IS DIRTY”. This situation is ODD, but like I said it doesn’t appear intentional. Let’s not make a mountain out of a remark made in the heat of a battle.

BSD is an addiction, and this is the first step.
