Three Habs Hall Of Famers

1968__november_10__le_petit_journal_1-1_medium

A quick historical quiz. Three Habs Hall of Famers from from to right. All ended their playing careers by 1940.

Hints, two of these oldtimers battled it out for a goal scoring race or two, while two others were actually traded for each other. The first reader to name all three, left to right, gets to choose a post topic. Have fun!

No. Two hints; not one is American, and all three are dead.

From left to right Joe Malone, Newsy Lalonde, and Aurel Joliat.

The first three members of the Hall of Fame, representing the Montreal Canadiens, who did not receive the honour in death.

And all well deserved. In the annals of Habs history, there might not be a better trade, player for player, than Newsy for Aurel. It was like reincarnating Newsy-lite for another 16 years!
