Olaf Eller named Head Coach of Team Iceland
Olaf Eller, father of Montreal Canadiens rookie Lars Eller, has been hired as the Head Coach of Iceland's national men's hockey team for the 2011IIHF World Championships, Div. II, Group B, in Zagreb, Croatia. Iceland finished 3rd at that level last year, their highest ever finish. Olaf was a former Danish national team player in the 1980s and had coached Denmark's U20 team the past two years.
Thought this was pretty cool, combining both my love of the Habs and international hockey. Shameless plug: have a visit to Puck Worlds, SB Nation's international hockey site, run by... me.
