Video of Mike Cammalleri Injury Versus Ottawa
I was in Nepean for my daughter's hockey tournament today and did not get to see the Ottawa Canadiens game that was being played just a few miles up the Queensway. Another parent on the team, sitting next to me, was receiving text message updates from a friend at the game, when "Cammalleri badly injured" was sent to him. Upon arriving home I searched this out. Not much to say, other than "haven't we seen this movie before?" Below are clips of Ryan O' Byrne hitting Milan Michalek and Benoit Pouliot taking out Erik Karlsson and a pane of glass in the process. Make you feel any better? Me neither.

I haven't heard anything more on the injury
But this is really bad news. I don’t see us making the playoffs without Cammy for a long time.
Blow it up...
If Cammelari is gone for any amount of time (olympic break will help)…They are done, they likely weren’t getting in with him there…
I wouldn’t say that just yet. There’s a lot of things that need to be sorted out on this team before we do the big kaboom again.

No kaboom coming, but I would’nt be surprised to see a whole bunch of our cheap vets go away for 2nd-3rd rounders. Let the kids wet their feet, see who can swim, hire vets during the summer according to that.
Would be fun to see.
I'm with you on this
There’s some pieces of this team which are great (Cammy, Gionta, Pleks, Markov, Gorges),
good (AK46, Gill, Metro, Pouliot, Spacek, Hammer), and then there’s the uncertains/average/underachieving (SK74, Gomez, Dags, Pacioretty, Moen, Mara, Lapierre, Bergeron). The goaltenders essentially depend on your personal preference and ‘intangibles’ at this point. Then there’s the players which we haven’t seen enough of (Weber, White, Pyatt, etc.).
No one’s going to eat Gomez’s contract, so forget that. From there, I see the need to test our young blueliners, which may mean having to ship out Hammer and/or Spacek (I wouldn’t want to lose Markov/Gorges, and MAB is the 2nd coming of Brisebois).
Finally: Gainey had better get a deal done with Pleks.

Sorry- by 2nd coming of Brisebois, I meant it’ll be tough to find a buyer. Hell, even Breeze-by took more flak than he deserved sometimes in comparison to MAB. The latter’s just too unpredictable to be worth much on a blueline.
