They should have played Price tonight
Martin missed an opportunity tonight. Here we have a goaltender that is in need of some confidence, and the Habs are playing one of the weakest teams in the league. Why not give Price the start and let him get a win? I'm not saying this because I have Price in my fantasy pool as one of my starting goaltenders, I'm saying this because I'm a Habs fan who wants to see a super star goalie emerge in Carey Price. Carey needs better handlers... and I'm afraid he won't get them until he is wearing another team's jersey.

Carey Price
The problem with Carey Price is that he became a train wreck because of poor planning by Montreal GM Bob Gainey (or someone higher up who gave Gainey his marching orders). He had a good run at the start, but was nowhere ready as a #1 goaltender. He needed seasoning, which a couple of more years in the American league would have given him, by exposing him to NHL calibre players, and pressure. The other rproblem Carey never took the seriousness of the NHL seriously. He had expected to walk into the NHL and just pick up where he left off in junior and his very short stint in the NHL, only to find the NHL exposed his weaknesses with poor judgement, getting caught out of position, and sometimes no situational awareness.
The NHL is not going anywhere, and Price is only 22, with time on his side…he will be a prominent goalie….eventually, but he needs to be sent back to the American League for at least another full year, with a 20-25 game appearance in the NHL. He’s beginning to get it, but it will take time. If the Canadiens had done the same thing with him, as they did with Halak, it would have made the difference.
